What is Smart TV?
Smart TV is the term for TV’s that can connect to the internet in your own home. So what, I hear you say! What does that mean for me? It means that you can now watch ANY movie you want … whenever you want … in home cinema High Definition quality. It means that you can surf the internet, search on Google, watch YouTube videos, go on Facebook, Twitter, Skype, watch thousands of free TV channels, play 3D games - the list just keeps going on … all on your own big screen TV set in your own lounge room! You can also download apps in the same way that your smart phone does. Not only can you connect to the  internet, but you can also view your own photos and videos on your TV … as well as print off pictures with your computer printer.

Why would I want to surf the internet on my TV?
Just like your computer, MySmartTV® lets you surf the web. Your TV’s larger screen size and quality makes viewing photos, pictures, Skype, Facebook, watching YouTube videos, watching movies … a much more enjoyable experience. It also allows the whole family to watch and interact with the one large screen. It also means that someone can be using the home computer, and you can still be watching a movie on your TV.

Do I need a "smart TV?"
If you are looking to the future and want the ultimate in home entertainment, then MySmartTV® is an ideal choice. Being connected to the internet it will be able to receive upgrades and new services as they become available.

Is a 3D television a "smart TV?"
No … 3D effects are not dependent on your television being connected to the internet.

Do "smart TV's" have a touch screen like smart phones?
No … MySmartTV® uses a revolutionary wireless Smart “T” Remote control, which has a full Qwerty keyboard, and an Air mouse, giving you full keyboard functionality in a  compact, hand held easy to use remote control.

What does the MySmartTV internet unit actually do?
Basically, the MySmartTV® will connect any standard television set to the internet via your standard home internet connection ... a modem router. It will connect to your modem router either wirelessly with its inbuilt WiFi connection, or hard wired with a standard ethernet cable. This allows you to surf and search the internet, watching a huge selection of  movies, TV shows, videos and music ... basically anything that you can do on  a computer that is connected to the internet. However, instead of being restricted to doing this on a small computer screen, you can enjoy it on a a quality large screen with your friends and family in the comfort of your lounge or home theatre.

Can I use smart phone apps on MySmartTV?
MySmartTV® uses the Android operating system, so yes, any app that is supported on an Android smart phone is suitable for MySmartTV®

What comes with the MySmartTV?
MySmartTV® simply connects to either an HDMI or YPbPr input on any standard television set … both standard inputs on all modern day TV’s. You will need to have an internet connection in your home, with a standard broadband connection and a modem router. If your modem router has wireless connectivity, the WiFi connection in your MySmart TV® will connect wirelessly to your internet connection. If your modem router does not have WiFi connectivity, then you can connect using a standard ethernet cable to your router.

Is it hard to use?
Definitely not. If you can use a computer mouse or a TV remote control, you will have no trouble with MySmartTV® The revolutionary combination compact remote control, full Qwerty keyboard, and Air Mouse makes the whole system extremely user friendly and very simple to use.  See our picture Gallery ...

Is it really free to use, or are there any ongoing subscription costs?
Once you have purchased your MySmartTV®, there are no ongoing costs or monthly fees. You can access an unlimited amount of movies, TV shows ... any internet content, and watch them whenever and however often you wish.

How will using MySmartTV affect my allowable internet usage download at home?
If you watch a lot of movies and TV shows with MySmartTV®, then you are going to use a higher amount of “download” usage from your internet service provider. If your internet usage plan has a cap or an allowable maximum monthly limit set on it, and you go over this amount in usage in the given time frame, (usually set at a month) then most internet service providers will do one of two things …. they will either charge you extra for the extra usage, or, they will slow down your internet speed connection. You should check with your own internet service provider about the terms and conditions of your plan.
As the popularity of broadband internet connections has grown over the last couple of years, and speeds have become faster, most internet service providers now have “unlimited usage” plans at very reasonable prices. This has become necessary as competition amongst internet service providers has increased.

With your mobile home setup service, what do I get?
Smart TV Australia offers its customers a home installation service within the Perth metropolitan area. We will send a technician to your home to connect your MySmartTV® to your television set, and then connect it to your existing internet modem router. If your modem router has wireless WiFi connectivity, they will setup and program your MySmartTV® for wireless internet connection. If your router does not have WiFi capability, then they will install a LAN ethernet cable between your router and the MySmartTV® module connected to your nominated television set.

Please note ... this cable will be installed loosely in a "patch cable" manner. It will be up to you to organise a cabling technician to install the cable through cavity walls, ceiling spaces etc to aesthetically conceal the cabling. This is because this exercise is a specialised job and is very time consuming. It cannot be done within the costing allowed for our mobile setup service ...

However, when out technician leaves your home your MySmartTV® will be connected to your television and internet and will be fully functioning. Our technician will also demonstrate to you the different functions and operating procedures of your MySmartTV® so again, when he leaves you will be fully familiar with how to work it and will be able to start enjoying a whole new entertainment viewing experience straight away.

What about movie piracy issues …?
Smart TV Australia does not condone the illegal downloading or watching of illegal or pirated content on the internet, and does not condone the MySmartTVAustralia smart box being used to carry out such activity. Whilst it is the end users personal choice as to what they watch or what internet sites they visit, all users should be aware that conducting such activity is deemed illegal and can attract severe penalties.
